Rules and Regulations


  • Registration for XTERRA Nepal events will officially open on specified dates.
  •  Participants can register individually
  • During registration, participants must provide accurate personal information and select their preferred race category.
  • Once registered, participants will receive confirmation and further instructions regarding race logistics.
  • On race day, participants must arrive at the designated venue within the specified time frame.
  • Participants will undergo race check-in procedures, including receiving race bibs, timing chips, and any necessary equipment.
  • Transition areas will be set up for participants to organize their gear before the race begins.
  •  Participants will be briefed on race rules, safety guidelines, and any last-minute updates.
  • Races will commence according to the scheduled start times for each category.
  • During the race, participants must adhere to all rules and regulations set forth by XTERRA Nepal.
  • Any infractions or violations may result in penalties or disqualification.
  •  After completing the race, participants must return their timing chips to the designated finish line area.
  • Participants are encouraged to stay hydrated and receive any necessary medical attention.
  • Awards ceremonies may follow the race, where the top finishers in each category will be recognized.
  • Participants are expected to show respect and courtesy towards fellow competitors, race officials, and spectators.
  • Finally, participants can reflect on their race experience and celebrate their achievements with friends and family.
  • Purchase of insurance with coverage for emergency evacuation is REQUIRED for participation in this event.  It is wise to also consider coverage for delays caused by weather, lost luggage, trip cancellation for medical reasons, etc. Note that any last-minute cancellation by a participant, even if due to medical reasons, is not eligible for a refund.
  • If you require emergency evacuation (e.g. helicopter evacuation) you will be required to pay for the evacuation in Kathmandu either with a credit card or cash before departure.  The amount can then be submitted for reimbursement in your home country to your travel insurance company. We will provide the necessary documentation to your insurance company for reimbursement.
  • ⁠Littering on the run and bike course is prohibited. Any item that needs to be discarded, including water bottles, gel wrappers, energy bar wrappers, broken bike parts, inner tubes, or clothing items, can only be discarded at aid/hydration stations.
  • MP3 players or any kind of personal music/listening device with a headset are not allowed at any time during the race. The use of a headset will result in disqualification.
  • Cyclo-Cross (gravel) bikes are not allowed.
  • In case of severe weather on race day, XTERRA Nepal reserves the right to make the necessary adjustments to the race course to ensure the safety of all participants. These decisions will be made on race morning and announced at transition and the swim start.
