On December 6, 2024, Periwinkle Service successfully organized Swisscontact’s 30th-anniversary celebration of the Senior Expert Contact (SEC) programme in Nepal at Hotel Yak & Yeti. The event highlighted SEC’s role in promoting sustainable economic development and fostering green, inclusive growth in Nepal’s tourism sector.
Her Excellency Dr. Danielle Meuwly, Swiss Ambassador to Nepal, inaugurated the event, which featured a panel discussion on “Sustainable Tourism: Celebrating 30 Years of Senior Expert Contact”. The panel, moderated by Mr. Beni Lang, included industry leaders like Mr. Khem Lakai, Ms. Ranu Shah, and Ms. Jen Lalchan, who discussed SEC’s contributions to greener tourism and Nepal’s global branding as a green destination.
The event was attended by 100 guests, including government officials, industry leaders, and private sector stakeholders. It also showcased products from 10 partner stalls, reflecting SEC’s support for local enterprises and sustainable production. The celebration reaffirmed Swisscontact’s ongoing commitment to Nepal’s sustainable development journey.
